June 2022 newsletter
Community Spiritual Director:
Community Lay Director: We are so excited to have completed
the Spring walks. Thank you so much to our lay directors
Randy Hite and T.R. Barnes for their willingness to serve.
We are asking you all to pray for the upcoming fall walks.
Ron and Tracie Neagle are the lay directors. This power couple
HAS excepted the challenge to serve our Lord and Savior and
our community!
As you all know the cost of everything is going up!
We hope to start a summer campaign. We are going to ask
individuals that can help be a partial sponsor for pilgrims to
keep the cost down but make up for rising cost of Food and
supplies. Please prayerfully consider sponsoring or
partially sponsoring a pilgrim in the fall. We do not want
money to discourage someone from being able to attend a
walk!

Team selection: As a part of the Team Selection Committee,
I am happy to report that the Fall Lay Directors, Ron and Tracie
Naegle (thanks for stepping up) have submitted their lists and
have been approved by the committee.
In the future, a spreadsheet will be presented to the LD’s to
assist in preparing their lists for each position, both inside
conference room and outside team members. The spreadsheet
will also include space for alternate choices, and the number
of teams in which each prospective member has participated in
the past. This is imperative in keeping with the one-third rule.
For our newer members this rule is one-third seasoned (served
on more than 2 teams) mODERATE (served on 1-2 teams), and
one-third new (never served on a team and it has been one year
since the prospective member attended their walk).
Thanks to each of you for all you have done, and will do, for
our United Emmaus Community! Looking forward to our fall
walks …
In Christian love, Teresa Sims
